Gen Z (short for Generation Z) refers to the demographic cohort born roughly between 1997 and 2012, following Millennials (Gen Y) and preceding Generation Alpha.

Key Traits of Gen Z:

  • Digital Natives: Grew up with the internet, smartphones, and social media. Most don’t remember life before Wi-Fi.
  • Diverse & Inclusive: The most ethnically and culturally diverse generation so far. They tend to value inclusion and social justice.
  • Mental Health Aware: More open about mental health and wellness than previous generations.
  • Pragmatic & Financially Minded: Grew up during the Great Recession and COVID-19, so they tend to be more cautious about money.
  • Individualistic: Value self-expression, customization, and personal identity.

  • Platforms like TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube dominate their online world.
  • Influenced by memes, niche internet communities, and online creators more than traditional celebrities.
